Drug and Alcohol Recovery Support Worker - HMP Onley

We’re recruiting a full-time (35 hours/week) Recovery Support Worker based at HMP Onley. You’ll work within an integrated healthcare framework to support adults (18+) with drug and alcohol dependence, delivering psychosocial interventions using harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches tailored to each individual.
Please note: HMP Onley is a rural location with limited public transport options, so reliable travel arrangements are essential.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a caseload and coordinating recovery journeys
- Delivering structured 1-to-1 sessions and group programmes
- Completing assessments, risk assessments, and care plans
- Providing harm reduction advice and guidance
- Supporting release planning and through-the-gate continuity of care
- Collaborating with partners such as Healthcare, Probation, Housing, and Employment services
- Contributing to service performance targets and measuring outcomes

- Organised, confident, and able to manage a varied caseload
- A proactive team player who builds strong working relationships
- Flexible, with occasional evening/weekend shifts and travel across local projects if required
- Skilled in IT and maintaining accurate records
- Committed to safeguarding, quality, and professional standards
