Looking for a driving job with a difference?

We are looking for someone to join the Retail and Distribution Team based at our Kiln Farm warehouse to be responsible for the collection and delivery of items of furniture and other sellable items to raise vital income for Willen Hospice

What you’ll do: 

Follow a pre-planned route driving to households of members of the public and shops in our retail portfolio

Working with another team member, load items into the Hospice van for delivery and assist with unloading and storage of items at the store/warehouse.

Offer a polite and courteous service at all times taking special care to ensure that declined donations are dealt with in an appropriate and tactful manner

Support the day to day running of the Distribution Centre, maintaining high standards of quality control ensuring only good quality merchandise is sent to the shops

Promote the charity’s values and fundraising initiatives in the local community

What you’ll need: 

  • A valid full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years to include category B, plus experience of driving a van
  • Be physically fit due to the high volume of manual handling involved
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to act as an ambassador for the Hospice
  • Great customer service and communication skills
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, varied environment
  • A commitment to the values and mission of the charity sector
  • Flexibility to work weekends and cover shifts as needed

Set in the tranquil grounds of Willen Lake, Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care in the Milton Keynes area. We offer round-the-clock, expert care to local patients with a life-limiting illness, both in their own homes and in our In-Patient Unit. Our passionate staff and volunteers make sure our care is personalised to each patient’s needs and supports their loved ones too. We have a thriving Therapeutic & Wellbeing service providing counselling, physiotherapy, activity groups and more, and a specialist Lymphoedema service. As a registered charity, we raise vital funds through our dedicated Business Development team and our growing portfolio of high street and online shops, to ensure our care stays free of charge.

Due to restrictions within our insurance policy we are only able to accept applications from those who are aged 25 years and over and have held a full UK driving licence for at least 2 years
