At The Mary Stevens Hospice, we provide palliative care and support for patients and their families and carers during challenging times. Our dedicated team ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all who stay with us and use our services.
We are looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our Bank team, to provide support to the Domestic team to cover annual leave and sickness.
As a member of the Bank Team, you will be contacted, often at short notice, to provide cover for shifts for the domestic team. Shifts can be any time between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday to Sunday. This role offers flexibility to suit both your needs and the needs of the hospice.
To undertake the required cleaning duties that form part of the Hospice infection control standards and to create a clean environment for patients, relatives, visitors, employees and volunteers that use our services. Working collaboratively within the domestic team and the wider team to uphold the hospice’s values and ethos of Care, Compassion and Kindness.
· Previous experience in a cleaning or domestic role.
· A keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
· Understanding of health and safety and infection control practices.
· Able to adapt to varying duties.
· A compassionate and respectful approach towards patients and their families
· Great interpersonal skills to interact within the kitchen team, wider hospice team, volunteers, patients and their families.
