Discipleship Enabler (Children & Families)

Hours: 37 hours, Monday–Friday, with evening and weekend work required
Salary: £45,378.55 to £48,869.21 per annum

About the role:
Working within the Dorchester area Episcopal team, you will play a key role in enabling local churches to respond to Disciples Together, our Diocesan vision and strategy, which seeks to put children, young people and families at the centre of a more Christ-like Church. As the children and families ‘specialist’ within the Discipleship Enabler team, you will be providing advice and support across the Diocese.
There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian, who is in good standing with the Anglican Church or a church that is a member of the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland under Part 1 Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
An Enhanced DBS check (child workforce) will be required for this role.
About you:
We are looking for someone with a lively, active faith who is able to think creatively, work strategically with the different theological traditions and approaches in the Anglican church. You’ll need to be a confident communicator and able to facilitate others. You will be able to form strong relationships with volunteers and church leaders as you support and equip them in connecting with children and young people, and develop their engagement and work with young people.
