About the Role
We’re looking for a forward‑thinking Director of IT Operations to lead and modernise our organisation‑wide IT infrastructure. You’ll ensure our services remain secure, resilient and user‑focused while driving the future of our technology landscape. This includes strengthening our cyber security posture, optimising our network and cloud environment, and delivering reliable IT services that support colleagues across all locations.
Key Duties
- Lead and deliver secure, reliable IT operations across all sites.
- Oversee networks, infrastructure, cloud services, data centres, firewalls and endpoint environments.
- Drive our cyber security strategy, ensuring compliance, risk management and Cyber Essentials alignment.
- Ensure office and service endpoint mobilisations run to schedule.
- Shape our long‑term IT infrastructure strategy, including potential cloud expansion and data centre consolidation.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and networking issues.
- Lead and develop IT Operations teams, ensuring high performance and a culture of continuous improvement.
About You
You’re an experienced IT leader with deep technical expertise and a strategic mindset. You bring:
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows infrastructure, identity, endpoints and system administration.
- Solid understanding of networking, including routing, switching, DNS/DHCP, VPNs and firewalls.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure, Microsoft Architecture , cloud platforms, and VMware.
- Experience with Cyber Essentials processes and modern cyber security practices.
- Confident working with hardware, servers, storage and enterprise networking tools.
- Proven experience leading technical teams and supporting large, complex environments.
Key Outcomes (First 6–12 Months)
- A secure, stable and compliant IT environment with no major security incidents.
- Successful delivery of office and service endpoint mobilisations to the agreed schedule.
- A clear IT infrastructure strategy outlining future cloud adoption, data centre reduction and modernisation.
- A strengthened and maturing cyber security approach with improved controls, processes and visibility.
