Digital & Technology Project Manager

£50,000 - £55,000 + benefits

Wimbledon (hybrid and flexible working – twice per month in the office)

 

The role

As a Technical Project Manager, you will deliver technology projects to enable CIPD’s Digital transformation. You’ll be working closely with programme teams, project teams, BAU teams, and third-party partners to effectively deliver against the agreed scope, quality and timescales.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing Digital and Technology projects, working with internal project teams and partners to deliver to time, quality and budget. Projects will vary in nature and may include software development projects, implementation projects, or support.

  • Working with D&T Product managers, Business Analysts, development teams, operations teams and business stakeholders, effectively translate user requirements and business cases into functional specifications and project plans using PRINCE2, Agile and Business Analysis approaches. This will require close collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external resources throughout project life cycles.

  • Project managing efficiently both internal and external resources to successful delivery of the project, with the ability to bridge the gap between technology and business stakeholders. Effectively managing allocated project budgets.

  • Providing effective project planning and excellent communication at all levels as a key to building successful customer relationships.

  • Working within the established governance and ensure the output meets organisational standards. Ensuring the recording, analysis, and mitigation of project risks within the established governance framework.

  • Consulting with key business stakeholders to elicit solution requirements and produce specifications that can be used to define project deliverables.

  • Fostering creative approaches to problem solving and quality deliverables between the project, business stakeholders and technology partners.

What you’ll need to be successful

 

  • Significant experience in project management in a digital environment and a PRINCE2 or PMI qualification
  • Experience of implementing cloud-based SaaS solutions, with a high degree of experience implementing new integrations and testing these integrations fully end-to-end
  • Experience of working with non-technical and technical stakeholders to gain an understanding of business problems, define solutions and design appropriate approaches to achieving quality project deliverable
  • Good commercial awareness and business analysis experience alongside effective influencing and negotiating skills
  • Experience of change management to fully embed new ways of working through digital delivery
  • A customer-focused approach to delivery and sound experience implementing business systems and web technologies
  • A sound understanding of the software development process and implementing customer facing digital services to a global customer
  • Excellent leadership skills of both project resources and supporting business stakeholders
  • Experience of software implementation projects, which include full exposure to the complete project lifecycle (including change control and risk management) and in the development and execution of effective stakeholder management plans
  • Knowledge of these systems such as Microsoft operating systems/platforms, SQL databases, core business systems (Salesforce, NetSuite), systems integration (Informatica), business intelligence tools (MS Power BI), project management methodologies, digital experience platforms, e-commerce technologies and other web-based technologies.
