Are you a student at Cardiff University who enjoys sharing your experience and supporting others? We are looking for enthusiastic students to join our team of Digital Student Ambassadors to be part of our team of ambassadors, who chat with prospective students online (https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/study/chat-to-our-students).

You will:

  • Chat with prospective students via our The Ambassador Platform (TAP)
  • Help others navigate their own university journey
  • You will also have access to other (optional) opportunities - from joining discussion panels and focus groups, to taking part in photoshoots, social media takeovers and much more.

You must be:

  • A current student at Cardiff University
  • Friendly, professional, and reliable
  • Have a valid Jobshop RTW permit
  • Willing to complete required training and represent the university online

Job description: The Ambassador Platform (TAP) Ambassador (Digital Student Ambassadors)

Our Digital Student Ambassadors play a vital role in supporting prospective students by sharing their personal experiences of studying at Cardiff University via our online platform, The Ambassador Platform (TAP). From offering tips on navigating the application process to chatting about day-to-day student life and the best places to explore in Cardiff, your insights can make a real difference.

If you enjoy chatting, are friendly and approachable, and love helping others, this flexible role could be a great fit!

Pay and Benefits:

  • £13.45 per hour
  • Flexible hours – you decide when to log in
  • Hours worked can count towards the Cardiff Award
  • Optional opportunities to take part in discussion panels, focus groups, photo shoots, and social media takeovers
  • All training provided and paid

Requirements:

  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally via written messages 
  • Strong time management skills
  • Confident initiating and leading conversations using open questions
  • Resourceful and able to find accurate information online
  • Knowledgeable about Cardiff University and student life in the city
  • Willing to share your own student experience honestly and respectfully
  • Active involvement in student life (e.g. societies, clubs) is an advantage
  • Must be registered with Jobshop and hold an up-to-date ‘Right to Work’ permit

Responsibilities:

  • Complete all mandatory training (paid)
  • Respond to prospective students via text within the platform’s required timeframe (ideally within 24 hours, max 48)
  • Provide accurate and honest insights, signposting to official resources when necessary
  • Keep your TAP profile up to date
  • Adhere to the Digital Student Ambassador Code of Conduct
