The Boys’ Brigade (BB) is a Christian uniformed youth organisation,
providing opportunities for children and young people to learn, grow
and discover in a safe, fun, and caring environment.

BB Companies (groups) meet in communities across the country, supported by
dedicated volunteer leaders who give their time and skills every week.

We are delighted to have recently secured funding for Phase 7 of CashBack
‘Location CashBack ’. Working together with Youth Scotland, Guides and Scouts
– Location  Cash Back is a three -year Leadership and Participation programme
funded by Scottish Government Cash

Back for Communities Funding.

 –

Location CashBack will support young people aged 10
areas who may also face barriers including being impacted by poverty, crime
and anti -social behaviour.

Building on connections to trusted local youth groups, like the BB, it will offer
safe spaces, mentoring, personal development and leadership opportunities that
open new pathways for learning, life and work.

About the Role

This role will be responsible for leading support of
local BB groups in Scotland through the ‘Location
Cash Back’  project  and the delivery of funded
targets .

Base location

Carronvale  House, Larbert, Stirlingshire. Flexibility
for hybrid working will be considered .

Part-time contract (21 hours per week)

The PVG scheme is a membership scheme for
people working with children or protected adults.
It’s a legal requirement to join the scheme if you're
doing a regulated role with these groups.
Successful candidates will be required to join the
PVG scheme or to  apply for a PVG update. The cost
of this will be covered by The Boys’ Brigad

Key Responsibilities

✓  Co -ordinate the Location CashBack project for the BB

.

✓  Support BB groups in target local authority areas to access CashBack
funding to support young people to access safe spaces, mentoring,
personal development and leadership opportunities

.

✓  Manage the monitoring and evaluation relating to

 the Cash Back project

and targets.

✓  Primary link and liaison to Location Cash

Back consortium .

✓  Support the sharing and promotion of what is being achieved through

Cash Back funding.

✓  Championing and supporting the organisation’s young leaders

.

✓  Promote the BB to relevant stakeholders and partner organisations

C hurches, community and national organisations

.

✓  Encourage and support the use of relevant programme materials and
quality assurance resources/tools, like the Company Heath Check

.

✓  Promote training and personal development opportunities for volunteer

leaders .

✓  Other relevant related duties as required.

Person Specification

Essential

✓  A gifted communicator with excellent interpersonal skills that will be

required to build strong relationships

.

✓  Experience of working with and supporting volunteers

.

✓  Understanding and experience of project monitoring and evaluation

.

✓  Experience and understanding of youth work

.

✓  Experience of developing and maintaining a variety of partnerships

.

✓  Ability to plan and prioritise own workload but also have a flexible

approach as part of a small staff team .

✓  Willingness to work flexibly  – working evenings and weekends will be an

important part of this role .

✓  Ability to multi -task, problem -solve, demonstrate initiative and work well

under pressure.

✓  Positive and personable approach, with the ability to encourage others

.

✓  Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

✓  Proficient in the use of IT and Microsoft software, including

Office  365

(Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

✓  Sympathetic to the  Vision and  Mission of The Boys’ Brigade

Desirable

✓  Knowledge and understanding of the work of The Boys’ Brigade and/or

uniformed youth sector .
