Celebrating Shakespeare is at the heart of everything we do.
Consider our Development Officer role and become part of our passionate and dynamic Development department. We are seeking a dedicated individual for a permanent role within our fast-paced, growing team.
In this role, you will engage in prospect research, coordinate fundraising plans, manage application submissions, and handle external reporting for a variety of exciting projects. Your efforts will directly contribute to the success and growth of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
We are looking for a candidate with a genuine passion for fundraising and a strong belief in the positive impact it can have in enabling charities to achieve their wider ambitions and social purpose. You may bring experience across income generation, prospect research, donor stewardship, and supporter engagement, or be keen to develop your skills across the full fundraising cycle within an arts, culture, or heritage context. Your excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and proactive approach will be essential in supporting effective and well-informed fundraising activity. A positive, flexible attitude and the ability to collaborate confidently with colleagues across departments are also key qualities we value.
This is a pivotal moment for the Trust as we begin to deliver an ambitious new strategy to become a contemporary organisation with global reach and purpose, with Shakespeare at the heart of everything we do. We aim to bring everyone together through Shakespeare to experience and spark conversations about his life, times, and work today. We aspire to create a world that is more curious, creative, and connected through Shakespeare.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 8 March 2026 with interviews taking place on Wednesday 18 March 2026.
We will send you a confirmation email once you have sent your online application, where you will be able to complete your profile in full.
Whilst we are searching for a full-time post, we will carefully consider other options, including part-time and job share propositions. Please outline these in your application.
The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is committed to encouraging equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB) in our recruitment practices and in the working practices of our staff and volunteers.
