Full-time
12th April 2026
Listed today

Are you an energetic, organised people‑person with a passion for retail and animal welfare? We’re looking for a committed Deputy Shop Manager to support the smooth and successful running of our much‑loved RSPCA Little Valley charity shop on Sidwell Street.

This is your chance to play a key role in raising essential funds for Little Valley Animal Shelter, which costs over £1 million a year to run. Every item sold directly supports the rescue, care and rehoming of animals in need – and you’ll be at the heart of making that happen.

What you’ll be doing

As Deputy Shop Manager, you’ll work closely with the Shop Manager and be trained in all aspects of charity retail. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving sales, meeting targets and helping maximise profits
  • Leading, motivating and supporting a dedicated team of volunteers
  • Ensuring excellent customer service and a welcoming shop environment
  • Managing stock generation, rotation, pricing and presentation
  • Maintaining high standards of merchandising, window displays and housekeeping
  • Opening and closing the shop as a keyholder
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, trading standards and charity retail policy
  • Stepping in to cover the Shop Manager during holidays or sickness

Every day is varied, hands-on and rewarding – perfect for someone who thrives in a busy, people-focused environment.
