We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our warm and welcoming team in Bursledon.
You’ll be part of a close-knit service, supporting six incredible adults aged 30–65 with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, meaningful lives in their own home. This is a full-time role working across a 24/7 rota, including weekend working, on-call duties, and shifts split between office-based responsibilities and hands-on support on the floor.
About the role
As Deputy Manager, you’ll work in partnership with the Service Manager to deliver high-quality, creative, and truly person-centred support. Together, you’ll ensure the people we support are empowered to live lives that make sense to them.
You’ll play a key role in leading and developing a team of Support Workers, providing hands-on guidance, coaching, and encouragement. This is a visible leadership role where you’ll be actively involved in day-to-day support while helping to shape a positive, motivated team culture.
You’ll also:
Build strong, professional relationships with families, social workers, and other stakeholders
Support staff development through supervisions, appraisals, and ongoing mentoring
Help maintain high standards of care, compliance, and record-keeping
Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
Has previous supervisory experience in social care
Is organised, flexible, and confident in a leadership role
Brings a positive, proactive approach to supporting others
Has good attention to detail and is comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel
Is passionate about making a genuine difference in people’s lives

What we need from you
You’ll have experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism, and, ideally, you’ve managed a team before. You’re passionate about helping the people who draw on our support to reach their full potential and will make sure MacIntyre’s values are at the heart of everything you and your team do. You’ll bring fresh, creative ideas to motivate and inspire both staff and the people we support, along with their families, upholding our service's excellent reputation.
Our location in Bursledon is not easily accessible by public transport, so you must be a driver with a UK manual licence to travel to work and unlock opportunities for the people who draw on our support.

Training and Development
