  • Supervise and take responsibility for the Pre School during parts of your working week
  • Be supported to develop the specialist skills required for leadership within a CIW‑registered setting

We have an excellent track record of professional learning and development, with staff gaining additional qualifications and degrees, and many progressing into leadership or teaching roles.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A willingness to work across a range of indoor and outdoor learning environments.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Good knowledge of National Minimum Standards for regulated childcare and CIW requirements, and a commitment to exceeding the standards.
  • Working knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice and legislation, or a commitment to develop this.
  • A strong understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • The ability to self‑evaluate learning needs and actively seek professional development opportunities.
  • The ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding roles and responsibilities and where challenges are faced with enthusiasm.
  • Knowledge of early language development.
  • Very good personal numeracy, literacy, and digital skills.
  • Knowledge of the Welsh Government funded schemes e.g. Flying Start and Childcare Offer.

Applicants must hold (or be willing to work towards) a qualification listed on page 17 of the Approved Childcare Qualifications: https://socialcare.wales/cms-assets/documents/List-of-required-qualifications-to-work-within-early-years-and-childcare-sector-in-Wales.pdf(link is external)

Additional relevant training (e.g. literacy, curriculum areas, bilingualism, Makaton, dyslexia, ICT, maths, English, CACHE) would be advantageous, as would paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene.

We Offer:

  • Support and guidance with professional development
  • An experienced, dedicated and supportive team
