Deputy Diocesan Director of Education - Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich
£62k- £68k per annum
Full-time – 35 hours per week. Part-time applications also welcomed (three days a week or more)
Permanent appointment from September 2026 or January 2027
As a diocese, we work closely with our 87 Church of England schools which, together, educate 14,000 pupils. Following the retirement of the current postholder, we are looking for an experienced professional with senior primary leadership experience to join our team, starting in September 2026 or January 2027. We welcome full- and part-time applications. This is an exciting time as we are also recruiting a Director of Education to start in September.
This post is both rewarding and varied and involves:
- Supporting governors in the appointment of headteachers
- Providing advice to governors on headteachers’ performance management
- Supporting school with admissions policies and queries
- Planning and delivering training
- Visting schools and providing school improvement support
- Providing governance support
- Building networks across schools
