Role Purpose
The Delivery Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of projects that support Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations across North Tyneside. This role will act as lead in identifying opportunities for projects which will enhance and complement our core work as a Local Infrastructure Organisation in North Tyneside, ensuring that VODA’s support helps build on the capacity and impact of local VCSE organisations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Management
- Oversee the delivery of projects aimed at supporting VCSE development, ensuring objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain project plans, risk assessments, and performance monitoring frameworks.
- Monitor and report on project outcomes, providing insights for continuous improvement.
Leadership & Management
- Line manage project staff, providing clear objectives and regular supervision.
- Support the CEO and Board of Trustees with organisational planning.
- Contribute to strategic development and delivery of organisational goals.
Operational Support
- Manage budgets.
- Prepare reports for the CEO and Board.
- Represent the organisation at external meetings and networking events when required.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven experience in project management and delivery within the voluntary or community sector.
- Strong understanding of the VCSE landscape and challenges faced by local organisations.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of funding streams and bid-writing processes.
- Experience in designing and delivering training programmes.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
Conditions of Employment
Pension: If eligible, the post holder will be enrolled into the VODA Pension Scheme.
Hours: 24 hours per week, typically within office hours (9:00am – 5:30pm Monday–Thursday; 9:00am – 4:30pm Friday). Some evening or weekend work may be required.
Annual Leave: 28 days per year, increasing by one day per full year of service to a maximum of 33 days (pro rata for part-time staff).
