Role Purpose: Concern Worldwide is committed to maintaining robust systems to meet all reporting and compliance obligations, manage organisational risk effectively, and safeguard the data of our staff and programme participants.
The role plays a critical part in supporting the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and legal advisors to fulfil the organisation’s compliance objectives.
Responsibilities:
Data Protection (80%)
Under the supervision of the DPO:
- Assist in educating and training the company and employees on important data processing compliance requirements.
- Ensure records of all data processing activities conducted by the company are maintained through each departments’ Compliance Standards and Processing Logs.
- Assist with the administration of mandatory assessments such as legitimate interest assessments, transfer impact assessments and data protection impact assessments.
- Be the point of contact for dealing with Subject Rights Requests such as Access Requests and Erasure Requests.
- Record and track any international Regulator registrations that are required and monitor and track international data protection laws.
- Support in Data Protection projects and initiatives to assist with Concern’s compliance, as requested.
Anti-Money Laundering Policy (AML) and Counter-terrorism (CT) (15%)
With guidance from the legal advisors:
- Provide support and training to departments and countries to perform the relevant AML and CT checks.
- Review periodically the quality of the checks and provide guidance for improvement.
- Prepare a quarterly report on the compliance with the AML/CT policy and the status of the checks.
Country Programmes compliance support (5%)
- Under the supervision of the legal advisors, perform the annual review of country registrations.
- Issue and track powers of attorney letters for Country Programme CDs (when Department Administrator is not available to do so).
Other:
- Carry out other tasks as appropriate under the direction of DPO or legal advisors.
- Participate in organisational working groups as required.
- Participate in relevant external networks and develop contacts with peer agency counterparts to facilitate sharing learning and best practice.

Role Holder Requirements:
Essential:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a relevant administration role
- Strong understanding of legal concepts and compliance principles
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational, numerical skills and attention to detail
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure often to strict deadlines
- Ability to work with limited supervision as per the tasks agreed
- Cross cultural awareness and alignment with Concern’s mission and values
Desirable:
- Knowledge of data protection and/or sanctions legislation is a definite plus
