Job Summary

Help bring Wales's world-class natural science collections to a global audience. As Data Manager & Digital Developer at Amgueddfa Cymru, you will manage and develop the collection databases and data infrastructure that underpin our natural sciences digitisation programme, ensuring specimen data reaches national and international biodiversity platforms including GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) and the National Biodiversity Network. Working across collections, ICT and digital teams, this is a technically varied role at the intersection of collections management, data infrastructure and open science.

This role is part of the DiSSCo-UK project, funded by UKRI. DiSSCo UK (Distributed System of Scientific Collections) is a £155 million, 10-year national programme to digitise and connect the UK's natural science collections, delivered by the UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) in partnership with the Natural History Museum and more than 100 partners across the UK. This post is associated with the first phase of the project at Amgueddfa Cymru, the Lead Hub of the DiSSCo UK | West consortium, covering Wales, South West England and Northern Ireland.
