Data Engineer

Walaris designs and develops AI-driven, software-defined, and hardware-enabled autonomous systems for defense and security applications. Our software platform uses artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, and edge computing to provide real-time situational awareness for air, land, and sea domains, enabling rapid decisions at machine speed. For our office in Nuremberg, we are looking for a Data Engineer (m/f/d) starting as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Manage and organize large datasets used for training computer vision AI models
- Collaborate closely with AI and Computer Vision engineers, providing data-related support
- Create and maintain image and video databases
- Build and maintain end-to-end data processing pipelines, from raw data ingestion through annotation and post-processing
- Ensure data quality and implement data tracking and governance practices
- Apply DataOps, DevOps, and MLOps principles to automate workflows, improve reliability, and enable continuous delivery of data assets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field
- Experience with databases and database management
- Familiarity with tools such as MinIO, Ceph, Docker, Kubernetes, CVAT, and Roboflow
- Experience with programming languages such as Python
- Proficient in Bash scripting
- Experience working in Linux (particularly Ubuntu) is desired
- Familiarity with computer vision + image and video processing software is preferred
- Strong English skills
