These are exciting times for the charity, and we now have an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and professional individual with outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills to join our dedicated International Programmes and Partnerships Department. As Data Analyst you will be responsible for supporting evidence-based influencing strategies across Mexico and Latin American (LAC) countries by collecting, processing, and analysing data to identify trends and insights. Working closely with the LAC Public Affairs Manager and LAC MEAL Officer, you will produce reports, dashboards, and visualisations that inform strategic decision-making and contribute to improving The Donkey Sanctuary’s impact in the region.
About you:
- A bachelor´s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Information management or similar.
- Able to understand strategy goals and translate them into specific, measurable research questions or objectives.
- Experience of research design and methodology to plan and design the most appropriate methods for gathering data.
- Experience of planning and designing a sampling approach to ensure data is representative of target population.
- Experience of translating technical findings into a compelling story for non-technical stakeholders through easy-to-understand chart, graph and dashboards, or similar to be included in reports and presentations.
- A good understanding of statistical concepts to interpret data correctly.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
About the role:
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include –
- Planning and designing data collection and cleaning and validating data from multiple sources (internal and external) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Developing dashboards, reports, and visualisations to be presented to stakeholders and other influencing activities.
- Using (or reviewing) statistical tools and techniques to analyse complex datasets, identifying trends, patterns and correlations that can support The Donkey Sanctuary (TDS) LAC strategy.
- Working with cross-functional teams in TDS to understand influencing and advocacy requirements and translating them into data.
- Automating data processes and improving data quality.
- Working with data findings so they can be presented in a clear and concise manner.
- Maintaining documentation for data processes, definitions, and dashboards.
The contract:
This is a full-time, 2-year contract, working 40 hours per week. The working pattern will combine onsite and home (hybrid) working under our guiding principles for such roles. The working pattern will be agreed between the line manager and post-holder.
