Duration:
This is a temporary position from 14 July 2026 to 29 August 2026 (with the possibility of an extension depending on our business needs and your availability).
You will work a minimum of 25 hours per week, usually between 11:30-16:30 Monday to Friday until 5 August. From 6 August, you will work a minimum of 39 hours per week, 11:30-18:30 Monday to Saturday.
In addition, there will be one evening of mandatory training which will take place in July and attendance at the Preview Performance on Thursday 6 August at 21:30.
Job Purpose Summary:
To deliver excellent customer service via telephone and email, to assist our audience with enquiries and ticket sales on the lead up to their visit to The Edinburgh Castle Arena for the Tattoo.
Key Duties:
As a first-class ambassador for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, you will be required to:
- Provide excellent customer service and communication over the telephone and via email with members of the public and travel trade from around the world.
- Assist in the processing of orders for Tattoo tickets, hospitality packages, and merchandise.
- Carry out administrative ticket sales tasks including data logging.
- Help customers with online bookings.
- Prepare and despatch Tattoo tickets and passes.
- Assist customers in accessing their mobile tickets, offering their tickets for resale or other general ticketing enquiries.
- There may be some requirement to assist a team based at The Hub with face-to-face ticket sales and customer queries.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience of, and a genuine desire to work in a customer service environment.
- Welcoming and friendly.
- Hardworking and reliable with a flexible approach.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Excellent administrative and IT skills including use of Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.
- Can work under pressure both as part of a team and without supervision.
Desirable Criteria:
- A second language would be advantageous but not essential.
