In 2023 we launched our Learning Hub, based in the Kinning Park area of Glasgow — an innovative post-school education programme. This specialised service operates within a welcoming and nurturing environment, tailored specifically for young people aged 18-21 with complex additional support needs. The Learning Hub has emerged as a cornerstone of support for young individuals seeking to cultivate skills and pursue long-term aspirations and achievements. We are currently planning for the graduation of our first set of awesome young learners.
It is not only the learners who thrive in the Learning Hub. Staff too grow in skills and confidence, having access to their own Continued Professional Development. The team won the Team of the Year title in recognition of the quality of support and learning provided, for their creativity and passion and most of all for their brilliant teamwork. About the role
As a Curriculum Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in enriching the educational experience of students with diverse special educational and learning needs. Your primary objective will be to empower these students, fostering their independence and active engagement in both the learning curriculum and their transition into adulthood. In addition to this, you will provide valuable assistance to the Learning Hub staff, ensuring a supportive environment that facilitates optimal learning for all students.
As a Curriculum Facilitator, you will hold the responsibility of designing, delivering, and assessing the learning experiences of young individuals who access the Learning Hub. You will report to and work with the Curriculum Lead to develop a tailored curriculum that aligns with each student's unique set of skills and abilities. Furthermore, you will be entrusted with the task of monitoring and reporting the progress of a designated group of learners, contributing to their ongoing development and achievement. You will have a pivotal role in supporting them through ASDAN’s and their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

About you
Our ideal candidate will be experienced, ambitious and aspirational for the people the work with. We would love to hear from an individual who has a CLD background or experience of working with individual with complex additional support needs within a learning environment.
We are looking for individuals who are sensitive to people’s needs and proactive in supporting people to lead active lives. You will have a good understanding of the need to support people to stay healthy and safe, while being comfortable at managing risk accordingly.

To be successful in the role of Curriculum Facilitator, you will need to:
- Understand how people learn and methods that can be used to enhance a learning experience
- Provide quality experiences for all learners in our care, which are fun, stimulating and creative where they can develop and learn
- Have a track record of working effectively with people presenting with challenging behaviour
- Have a great work ethic and able to work using your own initiative
- Be enthusiastic about helping people we support to achieve their goals in life
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have a relevant qualification to at least SCQF Level 7 or equivalent
- Be professional and able to deal with queries in a diplomatic and confidential manner
- Have creative and innovative ideas that overcome barriers to teaching, learning and assessment
- Have experience of augmentative communication systems such as VOCAS, symbol systems, signing (Desirable)
- Have experience in working in a post school learning environment (Desirable)
