LOCATION: Bristol Bears High Performance Centre, Abbots Leigh, Bristol, BS8 3TF. Where required, the role may include duties at off-site locations.
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours over a 5 day week
SALARY: £28,500 per annum

Bristol Bears Rugby is part of Stephen Lansdown’s sporting group of companies which includes Bristol Sport, Bristol City Football, Bristol Flyers Basketball and each of their respective community charities.
Our vision is ‘to inspire our community through rugby success’. Our supporters regularly attend Ashton Gate Stadium to watch the team perform in Premiership and European Cup Competitions as well as our Women’s team who play at the highest level of domestic competition.
Job Summary: to improve fan engagement, supporter retention and campaign effectiveness by managing and executing our CRM communications and supporter journeys
Key responsibilities:
- Lead on build and testing of all email campaigns, using A/B testing, design innovation and best practice to optimise results
- Manage the segmentation of all data sets within the club’s CRM system for use across a range of marketing channels, including email and paid ads
- Adopt a targeted approach to all CRM campaigns with a view to driving supporter loyalty and retention
- Drive initiatives to grow and enrich the club’s database, using industry leading CRM practices
- Analyse campaign results and provide regular reporting to the Head of Marketing and Marketing Manager on email performance
- Use AI to automate CRM reporting and dashboards across all marketing channels, turning campaign data into actionable insight
- Collaborate with the wider MarComms team on campaign ideas to support our overall objective of growing the fanbase and selling the stadium
- Assist with execution for META paid ads across ticketing, retail and memberships
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- 3+ years’ experience in use of CRM systems and email campaigns
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and check work carefully.
- Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- An ability to work with data, identify basic trends and present information clearly.
- A willingness and ability to learn new CRM systems, databases and digital platforms.
- A customer- and supporter-focused approach, with an understanding of the importance of delivering a positive experience.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and take responsibility for completing tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Understanding of the importance of data accuracy, confidentiality and GDPR.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Experience of working with a CRM system within professional sport, rugby, membership or a fan-focused organisation
- Basic knowledge of audience segmentation, personalisation and customer journeys.
- Experience of working with ticketing, membership, events or supporter databases.
- Basic understanding of campaign performance measures, such as open rates, click-through rates and engagement.
- Basic knowledge of marketing automation or email marketing platforms.
- Experience of producing reports, presentations or dashboards.
- Knowledge of social media and digital marketing.
- A qualification or relevant training in marketing, business, data, digital marketing or a related subject.
