The King’s Foundation is made up of three schools:
King’s Senior School and two preparatory schools,
King’s St Alban’s and King’s Hawford. Together,
they form a vibrant and nurturing educational
community.

King’s Senior School educates approximately
850 pupils aged 11–18 on our stunning city-centre
campus. Sharing this site is King’s St Alban’s,
a thriving prep school for around 150 pupils
aged 2–11. Just north of the city, in the beautiful
Worcestershire countryside, King’s Hawford
provides a dynamic learning environment for
approximately 260 pupils aged 2–11. All three schools
are united under a single governing body, ensuring
a cohesive vision and shared values across the
Foundation.

Coaching is of a very high standard, with external
oaches being brought in to supplement the
in-house provision. Winter nets start in January
where both age group and one-to-one work are
undertaken. We run morning sessions for our
selected Academy players which run from
November to March. Winter nets are
open to all cricketers from January onwards.

The School regularly tours with a senior squad
and has visited India and Sri Lanka on a number of
occasions.

Introduction to the role

The King’s School, Worcester wishes to appoint an
inspirational Cricket Coach. Applicants should be
able to deliver Cricket to a high standard and will
have the ability to adapt to the needs of pupils
while also being a great team player.

Our thriving sports provision for boys and girls
embraces ‘Excellence’ and ‘Sport for All’ and we
encourage all pupils to engage with the many
sporting opportunities available, regardless of
ability.

The successful candidate will be a motivating oach
who has the drive to help pupils of all abilities
achieve at high levels, they will be someone who is
passionate about sport, who has a love for learning
and who wishes to share and develop that passion
with enthusiastic and energetic young people.

We offer over fifteen different sports at specialist
level in first class facilities with expert coaches.
In addition to our core sports of Rugby, Hockey,
Cricket, Netball, Rowing, Football, Athletics, and
Swimming, we also offer a range of other sports
such as Badminton, Cross-Country, and Fencing.

As part of our dedicated staff team, they will assist
with the delivery of engaging coaching sessions,
helping pupils develop fundamental skills in a
supportive and inclusive environment. The role will
be key in shaping positive sporting experiences that
align with our school’s values.

The standard of our competitive sport is very high
and we are proud to have a significant number of
talented sportspeople playing representatively at
County, Regional and National level.

Cricket at King’s

Hours of work and contract
Up to 20 hours per week, Monday to Saturday.
This role is a fixed term position, commencing as
soon as possible after 16th April 2026 (subject to
successful pre-employment checks) until the end
of the summer term 2026.

Sport at King’s

At King’s Worcester we are passionate about sport
and physical activity. We aim to deliver a premium
sporting experience, within an environment of
enjoyment, endeavour, and achievement.

Cricket has a long tradition of success at King’s
Worcester. Many pupils, past and present, have
represented Worcestershire at all age groups.
Recent players have also been involved in the Super
Fours, England U19s, The Ashes and World Cup.

Both 1st XI’s have a full fixture list and throughout
the season play against a variety of opposition,
ranging from other schools to foreign touring sides,
and a number of local adult teams including a
Men’s and Women’s MCC side. All other age groups
will put out an A and B team on Saturdays, as well
as during Games afternoons.

all pupils, reporting any concerns in a timely
manner.

Person Specification
It is expected that the Cricket Coach will demonstrate
a range of qualities, skills and experience:

coaching qualification.

•  Knowledge, experience and understanding of

player development.

•  Experience of working with high level performers
