Are you a passionate Counsellor who wants to support people to make real, lasting change?

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Counsellor to join the SHARP Programme, working across Rodney Street and Brink Parr Street in Liverpool. This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) within a community treatment service supporting adults aged 18+ affected by drug and alcohol use.

Working within a community-based day rehabilitation setting, you will help deliver an integrated programme of clinical, psycho-social and wellbeing interventions designed to support lasting recovery and positive life change.

You will play an important role in delivering the Forward Trust SHARP programme, which combines the 12-Step recovery model with an ITEP (CBT) approach, supporting clients to engage in structured treatment and make meaningful, transformational progress.

What you’ll be doing

As part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will:

  • Deliver 1:1 counselling interventions and support daily structured group programmes
  • Support client assessments, admissions and recovery planning
  • Help facilitate the SHARP day programme and pre-abstinent services
  • Support clients with 12-step work and programme assignments
  • Work closely with Recovery Practitioners and partner agencies
  • Maintain accurate case records and support care planning processes
  • Contribute to a safe, positive and recovery-focused environment

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, organised and committed to supporting recovery. You will be comfortable managing a caseload and working within a structured treatment environment.

You will ideally demonstrate:

  • Strong interpersonal and engagement skills
  • The ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • A commitment to safeguarding, quality and professional standards
  • Good record keeping and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for helping people change their lives

This is an opportunity to be part of a service that creates real impact every day. You’ll join a supportive team committed to professional development, high quality care and helping people build sustainable recovery.

If you want a role where your work truly matters, we’d love to hear from you.
