Working hours: 21 hours per week

The Corps (Church) Mission Facilitator will work alongside an existing volunteer team to deliver Christian based community programme, activities and initiatives (such as toddlers, families, youth, and older person’s groups) to support multigenerational mission in the church and community. It is envisioned that this role will work to build and extend our church and community groups, forming connections with other Churches, community groups and charities.
Working alongside the Corps Officer (Church Leader), this role will look to grow and develop potential mission opportunities in the local area and increase the missional impact of the current programme, as we aim to love our community and share the Good News of Jesus in Maldon.
To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate:
- A commitment to Christianity, as a practicing Christian with a willingness and ability to bring ministry to the community
- Experience of organising effective community programmes for a diverse range of participants
- Ability to use own initiative, prioritise & organise a busy workload and to operate without direct supervision
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, programme participants and external stakeholders
- A good level of English - both spoken and written and numeracy
- Experience of dealing with programme related administration and working with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email programmes
This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
