The role
As a Content Lead, you will plan, edit and deliver multi-channel content to support the people profession and grow the CIPD profile and voice with defined audiences. You will join a team of editors and content producers, collaborating with subject matter experts to produce engaging, relevant and up-to-date resources for CIPD’s growing audience.
What you’ll be doing
- Working with the Knowledge Content team and other departments to develop and maintain a content publishing schedule to meet the needs of identified CIPD audiences.
- Planning, commissioning, producing and editing content and associated material with a focus on audience needs.
- Aligning content plans to produce a balanced, timely and engaging publishing cycle that meets the wider CIPD strategy.
- Identifying and commissioning internal and external writers, and partners where relevant, working with our legal team to manage contracts and content governance.
- Managing external content creators/producers to ensure publication to agreed timescales and budget.
- Representing Knowledge Content on internal projects and forums, guiding on audience need, format, style, channel and timely scheduling.
- Working with content communication, marketing and membership channel owners to maximise audience impact and reach.
- Managing and developing existing and new content templates and formats for online channels, in collaboration with Design and Digital teams.
- Working with insight and SEO teams to monitor audience insight and analytics and adapt and develop content accordingly.
- Working with accessibility teams to ensure that all content is fully compliant with CIPD’s accessibility standards,
- Updating organisation on Knowledge content outputs to coordinate and disseminate through CIPD networks especially with Branches, international and regional offices to ensure they can best leverage content outputs.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Editing and copywriting skills and experience
- Relevant qualification and/or equivalent experience (content or publishing)
- Experience taking strategic ownership of content projects and engaging/managing stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables in line with agreed priorities and customer needs
- A creative and agile approach to content ideation and production
- Strong project management and organisational skills and ability to manage multiple online projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, collaborating with CIPD colleagues in different departments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with digital publishing tools, content management systems and content project management tools
- A working knowledge of up-to-date SEO principles and good practice
- Business focused and commercial with strong understanding of the online content environment and effective formats.
