Conduct and Community Officer (Full-time (term time only 40 weeks per year), Permanent

As a Conduct and Community Officer, you will play a key role in fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive University community. Working as part of the Conduct and Community Team within Student Services, you will manage a varied caseload of student conduct and fitness to practise matters, supporting the fair, consistent and timely resolution of complex and often sensitive cases. This role would suit candidates from a wide range of professional backgrounds, including complaints management, investigations, compliance, legal services, policing, community safety, safeguarding, housing, casework, employee relations or other regulatory and procedural environments. Whilst higher education experience is beneficial, what matters most is your ability to assess information objectively, exercise sound judgement, manage sensitive situations professionally and work effectively within established policies and procedures.

You will investigate reports of student misconduct, support disciplinary and fitness to practise processes, assess risk, prepare reports and recommendations, and work closely with colleagues across the University and external partners to ensure appropriate support and interventions are in place. The role also contributes to preventative and educational initiatives that promote positive student behaviour, wellbeing, safety and community engagement.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Educated to degree level or possessing equivalent professional experience
• Professional qualification, accreditation or training in a relevant field such as investigations, complaints handling, compliance, law, criminal justice, safeguarding, community safety, housing, mediation or conflict resolution
