Derbyshire Netball Association is looking for an enthusiastic and forward‑thinking 

Technical Support Group (TSG) Lead – Competition to lead, develop, and deliver high‑quality competition opportunities for players, clubs, and schools.

This is a

leadership role at the heart of county netball. As Competition TSG Lead, you’ll drive the planning and delivery of County and Regional competitions, bring people together, and ensure every player has the chance to compete in a well‑run, inclusive, and enjoyable environment.

You’ll work closely with the County Management Board and a dedicated group of volunteers, acting as the

go‑to person for all competition matters from strategy and scheduling to communication and best practice.

This position is voluntary but out of pocket expenses will be reimubursed.

Main Purpose of the Role: To maintain and increase the opportunity of competition within the County.

To organise and deliver County and Regional Competitions as required.

Core Duties

• Attend County Management Board (CMB) Meetings, approximately 6 per year, plus AGM.

• Arrange and Chair all Competition TSG meetings

• Prepare and distribute TSG Minutes to TSG members

• Prepare a TSG report for each CMB meeting

• Prepare a Competition annual report for the AGM.

• To consider safe-guarding and GDPR for competitions

• To be the first point of contact for Competition.

• Deal with any enquiries and necessary correspondence.

• Produce budget and entry fees for County Competitions

Other Duties

• Attend other TSG Meetings when appropriate or requested.

• Attend Regional Competition Meetings as the County representative.

Essential skills of TSG Lead – Competition

• To have knowledge of the netball structure within the County

• Willing to access knowledge of regional competitive structure

• Forward thinking and unbiased,

• Strong Administration, organisation and communication skills.

Requirements

• Be willing to become a member of England Netball, once appointed.

• Complete all Tier 1 Governance requirement

Role of the Group

• Be aware of National Schools U14/U16/U19 County Rounds

• Host Regional Tournaments as required

• Organise venue, entry forms and rules & regulations for each event

• Ensure all clubs have opportunity to enter events

• Standardise paperwork throughout competitions

• Maintain and circulate tournament referees and organisers pack

• Liaise with Leagues in the County for communication and best practise

• Liaise with Player Development Programme (PDP) to avoid clash of dates

• Liaise with Officiating Lead for any umpires/mentoring opportunities
