Volunteer Opportunity: Community Volunteer – Events & Partnerships
Based in the East Midlands, with time to visit our office based in Nottingham to initially complete necessary training (G6 Ash Tree Court, Nottingham NG8 6PY)
Time Commitment
This role is flexible and can fit around your availability. We expect you will spend around 4-8 hours in a typical month identifying opportunities, building connections, logging your communications and catching up with the team, although this may vary depending on activity levels and your personal availability. We are happy to work with you to find a pattern that works.
About the Role
Are you friendly, proactive, and well-connected in your local community? We are looking for Community Volunteers to help identify and grow opportunities for the charity to be involved in local events and fundraising activities.
This role would suit someone who enjoys networking, building relationships, and making a difference. Local events and community partnerships play an important part in raising vital funds and awareness to help us grant magical wishes for children living with life-threatening illnesses.
As a Community Volunteer (Events & Partnerships), you will support us by assisting with:
Identifying opportunities for the charity to attend local events (e.g. fairs, festivals, markets, open gardens)
• Building relationships with event organisers and community groups
Encouraging local individuals, schools, or organisations to host fundraising events in support of the charity
• Recording and reporting all communications with people and organisations
• Acting as a local ambassador for the charity within your community
• Sharing opportunities and key information with the fundraising team
Supporting attendance at events and, where appropriate, helping to organise volunteers to represent the charity

• Friendly, approachable, and confident speaking to new people
• Proactive and enjoys networking and making connections
• Passionate about supporting the work of the charity
• Organised and able to communicate opportunities clearly
Comfortable working independently
• Able to represent the charity in a positive and professional way at all times
