Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We're looking for a community support worker (female only) to join our team in Wrexham, working one-to-one with a deafblind woman to support her communication and access to community life.

This is a permanent, community-based role working 21 hours per week across Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, paying £13.00 per hour. No previous experience is needed as full training will be provided.

A full driving licence is essential, and due to insurance requirements applicants must be aged 25 or over.

Please note: this post is restricted to female applicants. This is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, calm, and empathetic
  • Reliable and committed to building a consistent relationship
  • Willing to learn specialist communication skills and attend training

This role might include:

  • Communication support using tactile methods (full training provided)
  • Guiding the person safely in the community
  • Supporting access to activities, appointments, and social events
  • Assisting with everyday tasks and personal care
