Contract: Fixed term contract, 6 months, part time 18 hours per week over three days
Salary: £29,010 per annum
Location: Home based, with regional travel

As Community Project Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of our Summer Event in June 2026, working in partnership with one of our corporate partners. Working closely with the Community Project Lead and wider project team, you will help deliver a high profile community initiative that supports pet owners in need, with dignity at the heart of everything we do.
This is a fixed term opportunity focused on a specific project, offering the chance to make a tangible impact within a defined timeframe while increasing awareness of Blue Cross and our community work.
More about the role
You will support the day-to-day coordination of activity linked to the Summer Event, working closely with internal teams, partners, suppliers and volunteers to ensure effective planning and delivery. This will include supporting logistics, administration, communications activity and stakeholder engagement to ensure the event runs smoothly and achieves its intended impact.
Alongside event delivery, you will contribute to wider community project activity where required, including liaising with pet food bank partners, coordinating volunteers, and supporting reporting and record keeping. You will regularly communicate with volunteers and colleagues by phone and in person, ensuring clear and consistent coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
This is a home-based role with regular travel as required. You will be attached to a nominated Blue Cross site, which will act as your contractual base for the role. Travel to your nominated base site is considered normal commuting. Occasional travel to partner organisations or other Blue Cross locations will also be required.

Monday 23 February 2026.About you
You will be an organised and proactive individual who enjoys working to clear deadlines and contribute to meaningful, community focused outcomes. You will be a confident and empathetic communicator, able to build positive relationships with partners, volunteers, colleagues and members of the public.
You will be comfortable managing multiple tasks, adapting to changing priorities, and providing reliable administrative and coordination support. Able to work independently, you will also be a strong team player who enjoys collaborating to achieve shared goals.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
- Demonstrable experience of using excellent communication skills to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships
- Proven ability to prioritise and organise work and projects
- Proven administration skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- IT literate with MS Office and web based databases and platforms
- The ability to demonstrate, understand and apply Blue Cross values
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience supervising or managing volunteers
- Previous experience working in the charity sector
