Community Night Care Practitioner

Hours: 30.0 hours per week - Night duty (unsocial hours, including weekends and bank holidays, as required)

Salary: £25,353 (Pro-rota)

Location: Community

More than a night shift – you’re part of the virtual ward.

At Compton Care, our Community Night Care Practitioners provide calm, skilled overnight care that enables people with life‑limiting illness to remain safely at home, while giving families vital respite when they need it most.

Working independently overnight, you’ll play a key role in our community rapid response and virtual ward model, helping prevent avoidable hospital admissions and supporting hospital avoidance across our system.

The role

  • Provide compassionate overnight care and reassurance in patients’ homes or remotely
  • Support people on our virtual ward and urgent community pathways
  • Work autonomously, with clear clinical support and escalation routes
  • Enable families to rest, knowing their loved one is safe

Experience in care is essential. Palliative care experience is welcome but not required — we’ll support your development.
