We are seeking a practising and committed Christian to join our team in Newtown (Powys, Mid Wales), and work with us in providing much needed support to our community. Whilst we have funding for full time hours, we would also welcome applications from those seeking to work part time, flexibly or job share.
As our Community Mission Facilitator you will develop and deliver our spiritual programmes and outreach within our local community. You would work with all age groups, including young people, seeking to encourage better wellbeing through scripture.
Successful candidates will have the ability and willingness to:
- Support the fulfilment of the spiritual aims of the programme as well as the spiritual needs of individuals
- Show compassion and understanding to all programme participants
- Lead and/or participate in worship, and bring people in the local community into a living faith with Jesus
- Provide pastoral care
You will need to have:
- Previous experience and up to date knowledge of developing and implementing successful community spiritual programmes (achieved either from employment or volunteering)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to use your initiative, plan, organise and prioritise your tasks
This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
