Community Engagement Coordinator

Job description

Are you passionate about working with and supporting communities and young people in an inclusive dance setting?

Through its Associate Schools and Community Engagement programmes, the Learning and Engagement department provides on-going opportunities for people within our local communities to connect with the artistic programme at Sadler’s Wells and to explore their own creativity. Nurturing young talent is another core aspect of the department’s work and through the National Youth Dance Company and Academy Breakin’ Convention, it plays an important role in developing the next generation of exciting and diverse dance artists.

The aim of the role is to coordinate strands of our community engagement work inspired by our artistic programme, including Culture Club, Family Freestyle and Get Into Dance, as well supporting the coordination of our Associate Schools programme and schools-related projects.

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of coordinating participatory arts activities in education, charity and/or community engagement settings

  • An interest in the performing arts and the role they play in education and the community

  • Demonstrable project delivery skills including planning, scheduling, delivery and evaluation

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends when required

We’re a supportive and hardworking team, working on a variety of projects. We have a ‘smarter working’ approach and encourage both on-site and remote working. Sadler’s Wells benefits include:

  • Right to request flexible working from day 1

  • Employee Assistance Programme

  • Complementary tickets and discounts

  • Enhanced holiday and time off in lieu policy

For more information, please view the job pack here:   Community Engagement Coordinator Job Pack - August 2026

We welcome all applications by 11:59pm GMT on Sunday 6th September 2026. Interviews will take place week commencing 14th September 2026.

We are aware of a number of fake job adverts currently circulating online. To help protect applicants, please remember that all current vacancies with our organisation are listed on this website, even if we are partnering with an agency.

We are committed to building a culturally diverse workforce and actively encourage applications from Black, Asian and those belonging to ethnic groups that are currently underrepresented within the Arts. Applications from d/Deaf and disabled communities and low socio-economic backgrounds are also welcome. As a user of the Disability Confident Scheme, we guarantee to interview all disabled candidates who meet the minimum essential criteria for the role as set out in the Job Pack.

Sadler’s Wells also works collaboratively with Parents in Performing Arts (PiPA) in efforts to support parents and carers within the industry.

If you would like support or have any queries regarding the format or submission of the application, please contact us on recruitment@sadlerswells.com.
