Job Description

Job Title: Community Engagement and Services Manager

Reports to: Executive Director

Purpose: To secure implementation of the following strategic objectives through the development and management of appropriate projects and services:

Community Engagement and Housing;

Community Buildings, Assets and Enterprise;

Dimensions: i) Direct responsibility for members of staff.

ii) Direct responsibility for designated projects and services.

iii) County of Essex, with input into regional and national matters.

Principal Accountabilities

i) To manage projects and services relating to community engagement, housing and village halls, providing support and line management to appropriate members of staff and developing staff potential.

ii) To secure projects and contract work relevant to i) above and to manage, support and monitor the implementation of this work.

iii) To identify and develop new opportunities for service delivery and project development relevant to community engagement, rural affordable housing and village halls & community buildings.

iv) To develop and sustain effective partnerships with local authorities and other relevant partners to facilitate co-ordinated approaches to community led planning and the provision of affordable rural housing.

v) To provide monitoring reports, data and evidence as required by funders and commissioners.

Secondary Responsibilities

i) To contribute to the development of strategic funding bids and grant applications.

ii) To contribute to organisational development as a member of the RCCE management team.

iii) To represent RCCE at local, regional and national levels as appropriate.

iv) To assist with the organisation of events, competitions and promotions.

Other Duties

i) To undertake any other duties, within the scope of existing knowledge, skills and abilities, as may be required by the Executive Director.

Measures of Success

i) Monitoring reports submitted to the Board of Trustees on a quarterly basis, demonstrating performance against targets, for all appropriate projects and services.

ii) Funding, including contracts, secured for community-led planning, rural affordable housing and village halls & community buildings.
