Background

St Paul’s Centre is a well-established local charity based in the centre of Crewe. Since 1986 it has
provided a range of services focused on meeting local practical need. It is a growing charity inspired
by its Christian beliefs and driven by a passion to help and support people in their times of hardship

The primary function of this role is to produce a hearty, traditional Sunday Roast dinner on the first Sunday of
each month for members of our local community, including vulnerable adults, ensuring a warm, welcoming
and safe dining experience.

Main Tasks

Liaising with the Apple Pie Club Service Lead: Plan and prepare and deliver a monthly Sunday Roast lunch

Maintain high food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards

Manage stock and minimise waste

Ensure allergen information is clearly displayed and communicated

Contribute to a positive and safe atmosphere for all attendees

Essential Requirements

1. Food Safety & Certification

•  Valid Level 2 (or higher) Food Hygiene Certificate

•  Up-to-date Allergen Awareness Training

•  Strong understanding of Natasha’s Law and food allergen labelling requirements

•  Knowledge of safe food handling, storage and temperature control procedures

2. DBS Clearance

•  Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check

•  Must be current or willingness to obtain prior to employment

3. Professional Experience

Proven experience cooking in:

•  Cafés

•  Restaurants

•  Community kitchens

Demonstrable ability to prepare and serve a top-quality traditional Sunday Roast, including:

•  Roast meats (beef, chicken, pork, or vegetarian alternatives)

•  Traditionally prepared roast potatoes

•  Seasonal vegetables

•  Yorkshire puddings

•  Fresh gravy made from scratch

Ability to cater for dietary requirements including vegetarian, gluten-free, low-salt and allergen-specific
meals.

4. References

•  Minimum of two professional references

•  At least one reference from a café, restaurant or hospitality employer confirming:

o  Reliability

o  Professional kitchen standards

o  Ability to produce high-quality meals (specifically Sunday Roast)
