This exciting new position blends relationship-building, campaigning, and outreach to engage both corporate partners and local communities to support Women’s Aid Luton. Overall Responsibilities The post holder will be expected to demonstrate: • A passion for fundraising with experience in a similar role. • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage diverse audiences. • An ability to work effectively both individually and collaboratively as part of a team, • The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • A strong work ethic and commitment in order to meet the standards required. • Recognition and compliance with equality and diversity in the workplace. • Develop and maintain own competence and knowledge in specialist areas. • Follow health and safety procedures in the workplace Specifically, the postholder will be responsible for the following: - Corporate Fundraising Responsibilities • Develop and nurture relationships with corporate partners to secure long-term support / • meaningful corporate partnerships. Identify and pursue new funding opportunities through sponsorships, CSR programs, and grants. • Create compelling proposals and partnership packages tailored to corporate audiences. • Collaborate with businesses to design employee engagement initiatives such as payroll giving, sporting challenges, event sponsorships, and volunteering. • Monitor and evaluate corporate fundraising activities to ensure KPIs and income targets are achieved. Community Fundraising Responsibilities • Build strong connections with local communities, schools, faith groups, and clubs to inspire grassroots fundraising. • Support individuals and groups with their fundraising efforts, offering guidance, resources, and encouragement. • Develop and implement creative fundraising ideas to boost participation and income. • Represent the organisation at community events and networking opportunities to raise awareness and attract new supporters. General Fundraising & Administration • Maintain accurate records of donors, sponsors, and fundraising activities. • Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and uphold best practices. Strategic & Campaign Delivery • Work closely with the Fundraising and Comms Team to plan and execute campaigns and events that drive income and enhance the organisation’s profile. • Support communications efforts including press releases, photo calls, and media interviews to amplify fundraising activities. • Deliver presentations to a variety of audiences including corporate supporters, community groups, and clubs. • Support the Comms Team with Supporter Comms. Digital Engagement & Social Media • Collaborate with the Marcomms Team to create engaging content for social media channels to promote events and campaigns. • Explore new digital avenues to connect with potential donors and supporters. Organisational Development • To build relationships and networks with appropriate agencies and to promote awareness of Domestic Abuse and WAL services in the wider community. • To work in partnership with other agencies to promote awareness of Domestic Abuse and support to develop services across Luton • To undertake any other duties as required and directed in accordance with the needs of the Organisation. Knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse, including its impact on women and children, and an understanding of the work undertaken by Women’s Aid Luton to support and empower women after fleeing abuse. Knowledge of interventions and support services used to support women who have experienced domestic abuse. Knowledge of person-centred and trauma-informed practice, with an understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding. Recent & Relevant Experience Experience of working in the charity sector Experience of planning, delivering and managing a range of fundraising activities, including events, challenges and community- based fundraising, working with supporters and local stakeholders. Experience of corporate fundraising, including identifying, approaching and developing relationships with businesses. Experience of securing non-cash or in-kind support, such as volunteering, pro bono services or donated goods and services. Demonstrable experience of delivering income growth within a community, events or corporate fundraising environment. Experience of project management, including planning, monitoring, evaluation and delivering projects to deadlines, with the ability to maintain accurate records. Proven experience using online fundraising platforms, digital marketing tools and social media to promote campaigns and engage supporters. Experience of identifying and developing new fundraising opportunities, including community groups, schools and corporate partners. Excellent written communication skills, with experience producing persuasive, engaging fundraising content, reports, letters and presentations. An effective and confident verbal communicator, able to represent WAL positively with a wide range of audiences.
