Location: Headington Campus, with occasional work on other campusesEligibility:You must be currently enrolled as a student at Oxford Brookes University at the time of holding the post and have the right to work in the UK.Rate of pay:£12.21 p/hour + accrued holiday payHours: Zero hours contract (Shifts will be on ad hoc basis throughout the academic year in line with the needs of the organisation).

About the role:

The Communications Team are recruiting Comms & Engagement Assistants to support us with the delivery of Union activity. Brookes Union is a seriously fun place to work and you’ll be working on activities including our Union Elections, Stress Less, ReFreshers and one of the biggest weeks of the year - Freshers!

Main responsibilities:

- Act as a representative of the Students’ Union and be an advocate for Brookes Union, positively promoting the work we do and the range of opportunities available to students.
- Supporting the delivery of Union activity across Brookes campuses - this may include set-up and breakdowns and being the first point of contact; answering queries and signposting.
- Distributing promotional materials, such as leaflets, posters and vinyls in designated locations.
- Actively engage with students to ensure high levels of participation in Union activity through face-to face interaction.
- Collecting student feedback and insights.
- General administrative support to staff as necessary to achieve objectives.
- Various other ad hoc tasks as and when required to support SU activities.
- Minimise environmental impact by attending to your duties in a resource efficient manner, and actively support the delivery of the SU’s Environmental Policy in the performance of your role.
