This Communications Assistant role will deliver key tasksand complete maternity cover arrangements.  We are seeking a proactive Communications Assistant,passionate about social aims, to join our team and support in achieving SIS’s ambitious goals. Updating the SIS website, ensuring all content is relevant, up to date and supports the SIS mission. Social Media execution across all SIS channels. Monitoring SIS’s presence on partners’ websites, ensuring content is relevant and up to date. Assisting in the design and delivery of the SIS monthly newsletter (Mailchimp) and other publications. Assist in offline promotion of SIS activities, including exhibitions, networking and other in-person events.Collating, writing and proof-reading of case studies, blogs and other reports, and other adhoc requeststhat support the SIS team. Delivery and OperationsSupport delivery of the SIS PR plan; design and print of digital and hardcopy materials, and websitedevelopment and updates. Website, Social Media and Creative Outputs.With the wider marketing and communications team:Update SIS’ digital presence including the SIS website Programme social media campaigns and postsProduce blogs, news stories, SIS newsletter, award applications, surveys and case studiesProduce simple graphics appropriate for social media and survey software (Canva, Typeform)Add branding to team proposals and reportsCreate branded document templates for use by the teamSupport and facilitate communications as part of SIS sponsorship activities.Competencies, Skills and Experience4EssentialA strong all-rounder with broad marketing and communications skillsSpecific experience of some or all of public relations, social media programming and know-how and basicgraphic/ video production using Canva or similar packagesAbility to use our comms software packages, or able to learn new packages easily (e.g. Umbraco,Mailchimp, Canva, Typeform)An eye for design – we don’t require you to have design experience, but an appreciation for consistent andbeautiful brandingWritten and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage and organise a busy workload and to clearly communicate progress to team members.Understanding of search engine optimisation (SEO) and ability to incorporate SEO best practice as part ofSIS’s digital presence.
