Commercial Outreach Manager – Nordics Market
Role Summary
The Nordics are key growth markets for ASC worldwide. As ASC’s Commercial Outreach / Market Development Manager, you will have full autonomy to proactively drive ASC’s commercial outreach, partnership and market development across Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
You role will focus on expanding the uptake of ASC’s seafood certification and labelling programme, through delivering a bespoke regional strategy. Network, influence and build strong commercial partnerships across the seafood and aquaculture space. You will play a critical role in supporting varied partners across expanding remits such as; sea/food, retail, brands, supply chain, farms, consumers, commodity drivers and other NGOs to achieve ASC’s Vision & Mission.

Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver regional plans to deepen market presence and strengthen, defend and promote ASC’s value & brand to achieve growth targets.
- Forge strong partnerships with key contacts in seafood retailers, suppliers and brands to deepen commitment and preference to ASC.
- Increase uptake of both ASC Certification itself, and ASC labelled products.
- Engage with NGOs, certification programmes (ISEAL) and consumer orgs to build trust and awareness of the ASC certification programme.
- Distinguish ASC vs competitors through demonstrating clear value and impact.
- Understand fully partner expectations, feedback and needs to demonstrate ASC programme ROI, impact and value.
- Link commercial partner’s marketing & communications efforts to pro-actively promote ASC usage to a wider consumer base.
- Unite with Brand & Marcomms experts to deliver effective, engaging and value-add commercial campaigns and initiatives. Represent and promote ASC in commercial and industry events.
- Support Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and ASC’s joint goals to service commercial partners and stakeholders across Nordic regions.
Skills / Experience
- Multilingual Swedish and English (fluent/native speaking) is required. Finnish language skill would be an advantage, but is not essential.
- Degree level qualified and/or experience in commercial markets / account management / business or market development.
- Corporate Sustainability Responsibility (CSR) exposure, awareness or interest is desirable.
- Good commercial experience and/or established network across Nordic (Swedish / Danish / Finish) Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Food, Seafood, or Retail markets.
- Strong core skills in commercial partnership (account) management, brand presence and development in Nordics and
- Understanding and interest in Certification Programmes / Bodies; how they work and how they can be used to promote change and drive better industry standards
- Sea/food sector, commercial (FGCS) service, retailers, aquaculture / agriculture and/or environmental, sustainability or climate impact sectors or brand experience is desirable.
