We have a great opportunity at WWT Arundel for a dedicated and passionate Collection & Grounds Supervisor.

Working closely alongside the Collection and Grounds Manager you will oversee the day to day running of the grounds.  Visitor safety will be a key consideration along with supervising the care and maintenance of our diverse living collection.  This role requires someone who is passionate and skilled in not only ensuring the highest standards for visitor experience but also in ensuring the welfare of our unique bird collection.

Responsibilities will include upholding the highest standards of animal husbandry and welfare and to lead the team as and when the Collection & Grounds Manager is absent.

This is full time position working 37.5 hours per week on site, 5 days out of 7. Travel between our centres will be required on occasion. 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A current driving license is essential.
  • LANTRA brush cutter and tractor certified
  • Significant experience in a grounds and/or collection role
  • Experience of supervising staff, casual workers and volunteers.
  • Experience of using horticultural machinery (tractors, strimmers, mowers, hedge cutters etc)
  • Good work planning skills.
  • An ability to work flexibly and often to tight time scales.
