Place2Be is looking for an experienced and passionate Clinical Programme Lead to join our Mental Health Workforce Development team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future children and young people’s Mental Health. This role leads the clinical delivery, development, quality assurance and ongoing evolution of our pre-qualification training programmes, including CPCAB Levels 2, 3 and 5 and Taster Days.
You will ensure a high-quality, research-informed and clinically robust curriculum that reflects the Place2Be therapeutic approach, while overseeing programme delivery, supporting and developing trainers, and ensuring an outstanding student experience. Working closely with internal teams and external bodies such as CPCAB, you will contribute to maintaining high professional standards, drive innovation in training, and support learners on their journey into therapeutic practice with children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the clinical design, delivery and ongoing development of pre-qualification training programmes (Taster, Level 2, 3 and 5)
- Ensure curriculum quality, consistency and alignment with Place2Be’s therapeutic approach and current research
- Oversee programme operations, including planning, delivery, student experience and evaluation
- Manage, supervise and develop a diverse team of trainers and tutors
- Maintain high standards in assessment, moderation and feedback, ensuring compliance with CPCAB requirements
- Take clinical responsibility for student safeguarding, risk, accessibility, reasonable adjustments and complaints
- Work collaboratively with Programme Leads, Managers and wider teams to ensure a seamless student journey
- Represent Place2Be externally at events, conferences and with key stakeholders
- Contribute to programme budgets, ensuring delivery is financially and clinically sustainable
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including training partners, placement providers and awarding bodies
- Promote equality, diversity and anti-oppressive practice across all aspects of training delivery
What You Will Need
- Qualification in counselling/psychotherapy (Level 4 or above)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working therapeutically with children and young people
- BACP accreditation or UKCP/HCPC registration
- Experience of delivering or supporting counselling/psychotherapy training
- Strong knowledge of contemporary theory, research and best practice in counselling and CYP mental health
- Experience of assessment and quality assurance within a higher education or training environment
- Ability to build and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
