  • Salary: £26,000 - £26,347 per annum
  • Location: Work will be based at several sites within a nominated key geographical region where the LCS services operate. Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK Trust) and Mid-South Essex (MSE Trust)
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week (part time - minimum 19hrs per week)

About the job

You will be part of our team of clinical imaging assistants working closely with radiographers, consultant radiologists and surgeons and other healthcare professionals. The role is busy, varied and rewarding. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • preparing patients for examination and accompanying patients to and from scanner rooms
  • providing reassurance to patients
  • carrying out patient safety screening checks
  • making sure the working environment is clean and hygienic
  • helping to maintain equipment and reporting any faults
  • assisting radiographers and radiologists with procedures
  • clerical tasks such as data input, image transfer, ordering stock of consumable items
  • patient reception services

This role involves working a compressed shift pattern each week, scheduled between 8:00am and 6:00pm on a 7-day working week by rota. Each shift includes a 30-minute unpaid break.

Enhanced rates of pay apply for weekend and bank holiday working.

Locations and travel requirements will be discussed at interview.

We also welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time hours, with a minimum commitment of 19 hours per week (equivalent to two 9.5-hour shifts on a 7-day rota).

About you

The skills, experience and knowledge required for this role are sound demonstrable educational background and qualifications, good IT skills, experience of working or volunteering in a public service sector. Experience of working or volunteering within a healthcare setting would be beneficial.

You will be committed to providing safe, caring and accessible care to patients. You will enjoy being part of a highly professional and diverse team. Flexibility and adaptability to change in a fast-paced working environment. You will have a good understanding of health and safety, patient confidentiality, discretion and trustworthiness. Physical dexterity, co-ordination and sensory skills will be essential in supporting radiographers with positioning patients for their scan. You will be reliable and a good attitude towards attendance and punctuality.
