Position Overview

This role will require attention to detail ensuring our space is welcoming and presentable for our

Job Purpose

To maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within Sage House Tangmere for all visitors,
staff, and  customers. You will ensure high standards of hygiene across all areas of Sage House,
contributing to a positive community experience.

Responsibilities

  Carry out daily cleaning duties across designated areas, including reception, meeting rooms,

offices, corridors, bathrooms , and communal spaces

  Hoover, mop, and dust surfaces, furniture, and fixtures  including skirting boards  & windowsills
  Empty bins and manage waste disposal in accordance with recycling and environmental

guidelines

  Clean and restock restroom facilities, including replenishing supplies such as soap, toilet paper,

and hand towels . Ensure loo, sink, taps, tiles and floor surfaces are cleaned

  Clean staff kitchen area’s ensuring draining boards, surfaces, tiles and floors are clean and hand

towels, hand soap, washing up liquid and cleaning materials are replenished

  Wipe internal and external surfaces of staff room fridges  and microwaves to keep them hygienic
  Ensure windows, doors, and glass surfaces are kept clean and smear
  Undertake deep cleaning tasks periodically, such as carpet cleaning, floors, or sanitizing high

  Report any maintenance issues, health hazards, or safety concerns
  Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  Secure cleaning materials and equipment when not in use
  Check that windows and internal fire doors are closed and lights are switched off upon leaving
  Be responsible for holding a key to the building and ensuring the building is secure when leaving
  Any other ad hoc duties that may be reasonably required  within this role

Knowledge   & Skills

Essential:

  Previous cleaning experience in a similar environment (office, school, public building,  Hospital)
  Good knowledge of cleaning practices, products, and equipment
  Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
  Reliable and punctual with a  positive, friendly can -do attitude

Desirable:

  Local and experience  working in a community or public -facing environment
  Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH (Control of Substances

Hazardous to Health)

Working Conditions

  Will mainly be working Monday -Friday, early morning or late evening , on occasion you may be

required to complete a deep clean later into the evening or at weekends

  You may  be working  alone at times
  You will be using cleaning chemicals and machinery

stretch for extended periods

 and be required to lift, bend, walk, stand,
