JOB SUMMARY
To provide an effective cleaning service for the campus ensuring cleaning is carried out to a satisfactory standard as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
MAIN DUTIES
• Ensure the highest quality cleaning of the buildings, dealing with problems as they occur
Undertake cleaning duties as allocated by the Cleaning Supervisor, which will be varied, based on daily business needs. These cleaning duties will include cleaning of corridors, lift areas, toilets, stairs and classrooms
Proactively check areas are clean throughout the cleaning shift as appropriate and to escalate any problem areas as soon as they are identified
Check toilets for tidiness and freshness on a regular basis throughout the cleaning as appropriate
Maintain clean, tidy cleaning cupboards, taking into account the College Health and Safety requirements
Provide a range of cleaning skills as required to cover the cleaning areas allocated and to undertake related training as directed by the college
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate as a member of the unit team, offering constructive challenge, specialist advice and the highest professional standards
• Undertake projects as directed by the line manager
• Proactively collaborate with internal and external partners
Keep abreast of current developments relevant to the department
Actively participate in on-going training and development activity and the Personal Development Review process
• Serve on College committees, as required
• Respect the confidentiality of matters relating to other members of staff
Exercise a duty of care for their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions
• Promote and encourage Equality & Diversity in all aspects of Departmental operations

| The post wil require to work on a shift basis which are likely to involve early morning or evening working. There is some physical work involved in the postand some exposure to waste materials and cleaning chemicals. |
