Job Specification For: Civil Engineer Ref: VR/01413 Job Description Job Category: Civil Engineers - Highway, Drainage and/or Railway Infrastructure Expertise Job Type: Full or Part time Location: Faversham, Kent with option for home-based working Salary: £40,000 to £75,000 (depending on seniority and experience) We are a small but growing and award-winning civil engineering consultancy and are looking for Civil Engineers to join our team, delivering: 1. Building development, highway and drainage projects; 2. Railway projects, including tracked earthworks, drainage systems, embankment stabilisation, culverts, soakaways, and associated civil works. These are hands-on roles offering the chance to lead design work and shape infrastructure projects. What You’ll Be Doing: 1. Lead design and engineering for a variety of schemes across a variety of projects. 2. Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget. 3. Provide technical guidance on civil engineering challenges, from land development to multi-unit residential sites. 4. Collaborate with architects, planners, and contractors to ensure designs meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements. What We’re Looking For: - Strong civil engineering experience. - Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroDrainage or Civils 3D. - Experience delivering building, industrial, or infrastructure projects. - Proven ability to manage designs and mentor junior engineers. Qualifications & Skills Required • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Civil Engineering • Experience in highway or drainage design • Willingness to obtain PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification if not already held. • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Willingness to conduct regular site visits. • Driving licence.
