China Operations Manager
The Premier League has opened a new office in China in October 2024. After operating in the country for a long time, this new office consolidates the League's existing work and reaffirms our commitment to football, fans and partners in China. Building on the Premier League's longstanding work to engage fans and promote football in the region, the new office will further strengthen collaboration with the Chinese authorities, Chinese stakeholders and partners, and promote the growth of the game at elite and grassroots levels.
The role will collaborate with key functions within the League's Global headquarters as well as teammates in Beling to ensure successful ongoing operations of the China office, create a positive working environment and coordinate all local employee benefits and services.

The Premier League opened the China Office in October 2024 in Beijing, as a demonstration of our continued commitment to football in the region; to the development of the game locally and strengthening our relations with broadcasters, commercial partners, fans and other stakeholders in China.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive executive support to the Managing Director, China and wider team, including:
o Extensive diary management
o Arranging national and international travel logistics (including visas) and producing itineraries
o Coordination of global staff in-market visits (including visa support
o Maintaining efficient electronic and paper filing, archive systems and contact databases
o Coordinate preparation and review of high-quality executive reports, presentations and other documentation following the corporate brand and league guidelines
- Manage all office service functions:
o Procure office supplies and manage the office storage room
o Day-to-day engagement with the office facility provider to address staff’s daily operational needs, IT support, office branding, and related matters
o Liaise with key global counterparts and local service providers / vendors to ensure successful ongoing operations of the China office to support all local staff
o Collaborate with Global People team and the Managing Director, China to define future local office needs - location, furniture, equipment, supplies, etc.
o Collaborate with Global Legal and Branding teams to develop and approve corporate gifts for the China office in accordance with the global gifting policy and brand guidelines
o Support the execution of all China office specific corporate events
- Be the primary point of contact for Global Legal, Procurement, and Finance teams, providing efficient support on legal and financial processes, including:
o Support Global Legal team and the Managing Director, China to establish a new legal contracting process for the China Office to enhance the efficiency of the legal process
o Manage the contract process and archiving
o Support Global Procurement team and the Managing Director, China to localise and implement global procurement policies, ensuring full compliance with all procedures and standards
o Collaborate with Global Finance team and external providers to process China office’s invoices and resolve any issues related to staff’s expenses, ensuring full compliance with both central and local regulations
o Collaborate with Global Finance team and the Managing Director, China to plan and track China office’s budget to ensure operations remain within the approved financial plan and align with budget allocations
- Be the primary point of contact for local People support, including:
o Collaborate with Global People team and the Managing Director, China to define and maintain local policies
o Coordinate on-boarding of all new staff - liaising with the recruiting manager, Global People team, IT and external providers as required
o Support on staff relocation services and visa requirements
o Collaborate with Global People team and the Managing Director, China to implement staff development and culture building activities
o Collaborate with Global People team and the Managing Director, China on internal communications, utilizing global internal communications platforms such as Viva Engage and Weekly Newsletter
- Support the execution of in-market fan and partner events in collaboration with global and local teams
- Other duties as may be required from time to time
Requirements for the role
- Extensive administrative / office management experience
- Strong organisational and detail-oriented skills, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding team player
- A hardworking, self-motivated, and proactive attitude, with a flexible and collaborative working approach, which is inclusive in style
- Good knowledge of MS-Office applications
- Ability to build and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally
- Excellent communication skills and a high level of emotional intelligence
- High level of integrity with the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
- Occasional travel will be necessary, including to the Premier League's London office
