Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: £29,140

This role is employed locally by the parish, serving both St Aiden’s, Wheatley Hills and St Paul’s, Wheatley Park, working in partnership with The Diocese of Sheffield’s Centenary Project. The Centenary Project seeks to help churches reach new people, nurture disciples of Jesus Christ, and grow healthy Christian communities.

The Children, Youth and Families Worker will lead and develop ministry among children, young people and families within the Parish of the Resurrection, Doncaster. The role focuses on building relationships with families in the church and wider community, creating opportunities for children and young people to explore the Christian faith, and supporting families to become part of the worshipping life of the church.

General responsibilities: –

  • Develop and lead engaging Christian activities for Children and Young People aged between 0-18 years’.
  • Build strong relationships with families connected to the church and the local community.
  • To meet monthly with other Children’s Workers as part of The Centenary Project Network for learning and support.

Contract: 5 years fixed-term contract

This is a post funded by a grant from the National Church currently up to the end of 2028 with the potential for further review to 2031.

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.
