About the Role

We’re looking for caring and committed Children’s Support Workers (Waking Nights) to join our Clevedon team, supporting children and young people aged 5–18.

The purpose of this role is to provide safe, responsive, child‑centred support during the night, ensuring children feel secure, supported, and well cared for. You will play a vital role in creating a calm, reassuring environment that promotes wellbeing and meets individual needs overnight.

Support is delivered in community and home settings and may include monitoring wellbeing, responding to children if they wake or require support, completing care tasks, and maintaining a safe environment throughout the night.

Some children access 24‑hour overnight support, and waking night staff are required to remain alert and available throughout the shift. Support may include personal care and medication, in line with individual care plans. Full training will be provided.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing attentive, child‑centred support throughout the night
  • Responding appropriately to children’s needs during overnight periods
  • Supporting personal care, medication, and wellbeing as required
  • Maintaining a safe, calm, and secure environment
  • Keeping accurate records and handovers for day staff
  • Following safeguarding, health & safety, and care procedures at all times
  • Working collaboratively as part of a wider support team

Shifts are waking nights, delivered across a 7‑day rota, including weekends.

What We’re Looking For

  • A calm, patient, and child‑focused approach
  • Reliability and the ability to remain alert and responsive overnight
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Resilience and emotional awareness
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

A Level 3 Childcare qualification is desirable, or a willingness to work towards one.
