We’re proud of the work we do, and we’re now looking for a Children and Young People Domestic Abuse Practitioner. This new post has been made possible through two years’ grant funding from the Masonic Charitable Foundation and is embedded within the Bradford RESET team. The role is for 22.5 hours per week over 3 days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

We are looking for a highly skilled, engaging and innovative practitioner with strong experience of working with children and young people. You will have exceptional relationship-building and engagement skills, with the ability to connect with young people in a way that is authentic, inspiring and builds trust over time. You will be confident working in a needs-led and flexible way, while operating safely within a structured, safeguarding-led framework.

The role requires someone who works positively as part of a team and alongside multi-agency professionals, bringing strong communication, collaboration and professional judgement. Above all, you will be passionate about amplifying young people’s voices and committed to shaping support that genuinely works for them.

Bradford RESET (Recognise, Engage, Support Everyone to Transform) is a district-wide, trauma-informed service commissioned by Bradford Council and led by The Bridge Project. It provides a whole-system, multi-agency response to domestic abuse, working with both people who cause harm and those affected by it.

The model is built around a whole-family approach, ensuring that alongside behaviour change work with those causing harm, parallel support, safety planning and recovery support is provided to victims, partners and family members through dedicated Family Workers and specialist services.

Within RESET, Family Workers play a key role in identifying and supporting victim-survivors and their families. Through this work, they develop a clear understanding of risk, need and the lived experience of children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

This role sits within that structure. The Children & Young People Domestic Abuse Practitioner will receive referrals directly from Bradford RESET Family Workers, who will identify young people (aged 11–17) within families already engaged in the programme. This ensures that support for children and young people is:

  • informed by a whole-family understanding of risk and safety
  • connected to wider safeguarding and multi-agency planning
  • introduced through trusted relationships already established with the non‑abusing parent or carer
  • grounded in recognition of children and young people as victim-survivors in their own right

This post extends Bradford RESET’s whole-system approach by providing targeted, developmentally appropriate support for adolescents affected by domestic abuse, ensuring their voices, needs and experiences are central to how support is designed and delivered.

It is essential that the successful candidate has a full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance, as the role could not be effectively delivered without this. An enhanced DBS is also a requirement of the role.

Alongside a rewarding career, you’ll enjoy a benefits package designed to help you thrive:

  • Competitive salary that reflects your skills and contribution
  • 32 days of annual leave to rest, recharge, and enjoy life outside work
  • 5% employer pension contribution to support your long‑term financial security
  • A dedicated Learning & Development programme to help you grow and progress
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme offering confidential advice whenever you need it
  • Death‑in‑service benefit worth three times your salary for added peace of mind
  • Refer‑a‑friend bonus of £500 when you help us bring great people on board
  • Two hours of monthly wellbeing time to pause, connect, and reset with your team
  • A programme of mindfulness activities to boost focus on overall wellbeing
  • Access to a Blue Light Card, giving you discounts across hundreds of retailers, restaurants, and leisure brands.

The Bridge Project is proud to be a Mindful Employer, championing a workplace where wellbeing truly matters.
