Job description

Chef de Partie - variable hours (1634)

Are you looking for a role where you can showcase your skills in a creative multi-outlet environment? Would you like to work varied hours each week and to have your Sunday's back and no split shifts? Do you enjoy working with and preparing fresh ingredients?

We are looking for a Chef de Partie to help create exceptional food across our venues.  You'll prepare high-quality dishes and develop your experience by running and rotating on kitchen sections — garnish, larder, hot, or pastry.

Working under the guidance of the Executive Head Chef, you will prepare, bake and create food from scratch using fresh, locally sourced, ingredients. You'll have the opportunity to prepare food for our cafes, Rooftop Restaurant, Riverside Terrace and support with food for press nights, private events, and Co-Artistic Director's annual dinner.

This is a variable hour's position based in Stratford-upon-Avon. This will include some evening and weekend work, although our chefs rarely work on Sundays.

Take a look at our newly launched, seasonal Rooftop Restaurant menu here.

Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, key areas of responsibility include:

  • Collaborating with the team to shape an outstanding food offer across multiple venues.
  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes using agreed ingredients and using specs.
  • Assisting the Senior Chefs in developing new dishes and menus, assisting with any menu changes and food tastings.
  • Monitoring portion control and wastage to maintain profit margins.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and legislative regulations.

We are looking for:

  • Previous experience of food preparation and leading a section during service.
  • Trained to at least Level 2 Food Hygiene, although we offer training.
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and consistently.
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach to work with the ability to work flexibly, multitask and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • A good understanding of all HACCAP and Health and Safety legislation.
  • Food Safety and Health and Safety qualifications.
